Quayle Munro is pleased to announce that it has advised UTV Media plc (“UTV”) on the sale of Liverpool based radio station Juice FM (“Juice”) to Global Radio Holdings Ltd (“Global”) for a consideration of £10m.
Juice was launched in Liverpool in 1998 as 107 Crash FM to provide a rock and dance radio station aimed at 15-34 year olds, quickly gaining backing from several prominent UK artists. Following its acquisition by Global, it has been rebranded as Capital Liverpool, adding to Global’s Capital Network which now reaches nearly 8,000,000 listeners per week across the UK.
Ashley Tabor, founder & executive president of Global, said on announcing the transaction: “I’m pleased to announce our proposed acquisition of Juice FM, which will complement our portfolio both regionally and nationally. I’m looking forward to welcoming Juice FM to the Global family.”
The deal was agreed in June 2015, obtaining CMA approval and closing in October 2015.
