(London, August 2006) The van Tulleken Company announced today that it represented the interests of the publishing houses K.G. Saur and Max Niemeyer in their acquisition by Walter de Gruyter. Walter de Gruyter GmbH & Co. KG takes on the complete publishing programme of K.G. Saur Verlag GmbH, which since 2005 has also included Max Niemeyer Verlag, a highly regarded academic publisher in the humanities. The acquisition, from Thomson Learning, gives Walter de Gruyter market leadership in classical studies, philosophy, linguistics, German studies, English and Roman language and literature, as well as library sciences and general library reference works.
