The van Tulleken Company advises shareholders of Transaction Publishers
Date: February 2007

The van Tulleken Company advises Transaction Publishers in the sale of its journals to Springer Science+Business.

In a move that will considerably expand its social sciences offering, Springer has acquired 29 journals from the New Jersey-based specialist publisher. Transaction’s titles, including the flagship journal Society, are at the forefront of contemporary thought in established disciplines such as political science, history, sociology, anthropology and psychology. This acquisition links complementary publishing programs and strengthens Springer’s existing leading position in the humanities and social sciences. Springer’s portfolio in this area includes titles such as Theory and Society, Sex Roles and Policy Sciences.

"Both parties are delighted with the outcome. Springer has significantly strengthened its social sciences publishing activities and Transaction has secured an excellent home for their titles, one which guarantees their longevity," said Robin Warner/Managing Director, The van Tulleken Company-New York office.
