Jonathan joined Quayle Munro in 2008 on its acquisition of The van Tulleken Company, which he joined as Managing Diretor in February 2007.  He is focused on professional and business-to-business media companies, including information, data, digital, market research, face-to-face and print businesses.

Jonathan has been involved in multiple transactions in his coverage sectors.  His experience includes representing the owners of Pyramid Research in its sale to United Business Media, Nielsen Entertainment in its purchase of Radio & Records, and Nielsen Business Media in the divestiture of Architecture and Architectural Lighting properties to Hanley-Wood.

Jonathan’s role draws on a combination of 20 years of industry, financial, operational and legal training and experience.  Prior to joining The van Tulleken Company’s New York office as Managing Director in February 2007, he was Vice President of Corporate Development and Planning at Nielsen Business Media Inc. In addition to executing a number of M&A transactions and handling strategic planning in that role, he was actively involved in the launch of that company’s first publication in mainland China. Prior to that, he had been with Primedia Inc’s Business-to-Business Group covering the Trade Publishing (subsequently part of Penton Media) and Distance Learning units.  He had joined Primedia’s Corporate Finance Department where he worked for two years. Previously he had been with JP Morgan Inc., where he served as Associate in its Telecommunications Investment Banking Group.

In addition to an MBA from Columbia University, Mr. Gordon holds a B.Com and LLB degree, and a Higher Diploma in Company Law with Distinction from the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa. He qualified as an attorney in South Africa.
