Peter joined  Quayle Munro in July 2007 as Chief Executive on its acquisition of New Boathouse Capital which he co-founded in 2000.  He stood down from the Board upon his appointment as Chairman of Virgin Group in November 2009.  He remains a senior adviser to Quayle Munro.

Peter has over 30 years’ corporate finance and international capital markets experience, having begun his career at Barings in 1976.  In 1984 he joined Goldman Sachs, returning to Barings in 1987 to head corporate finance in South East Asia.  In 1994 he became CEO of Barings Investment Banking Group, charged with integrating the securities and corporate finance divisions.  Three months after his appointment, the notorious derivatives trading scandal in Singapore was revealed, which brought down the bank.

From 1995, Peter established a successful corporate finance consultancy, P&T Norris, constructed around the needs of a group of owner-entrepreneurs, which became the core business of New Boathouse Capital.

Peter graduated from Oxford University in 1976 with a first class degree in Modern History and Modern Languages.
