Lawrence has over 30 years corporate advisory experience, the last 15 of which have been dedicated to financial services. He joined Quayle Munro in early 2015 to establish its financial services practice.
Prior to joining Quayle Munro, Lawrence co-founded the financial services practice at Hawkpoint (acquired by Canaccord) in the late 1990s, building it to a team of 20. He began his career at Charterhouse where he worked for 12 years.
Lawrence has a wide range of advisory experience including; IPOs, buy-outs, private equity and debt raisings, public offers, independent valuations and acquisitions and disposals and has advised on 35 completed transactions since the beginning of 2011.
Notable transaction include: advising on the take private of Shawbrook Bank (for BC Partners and Pollen Street), the shareholders on the sales of Bluestep (sold to EQT), Voogd & Voogd (sold to Five Arrows), Moneycorp (sold to Bridgepoint), Burdale (sold to Wells Fargo), Cashzone (sold to Cardtronics), Marlin (sold to Cabot Credit Management), Buy-as-you-View (sold to Rutland), CapQuest (sold to Towerbrook), a £1billion mortgage book owned by Bank of Ireland (sold to Nationwide), First Assist (sold to Cigna), Lowell (sold to TDR), Ocean Finance (sold to AIG), Singers Asset Finance (sold to Shawbrook Bank), Ultimo (sold to B2 Holdings) and Windsor (sold to Hyperion). He also advised on the IPOs of Secure Trust Bank and One Savings Bank, the restructuring of Albemarle & Bond, the private capital raising for Aldermore Bank, the purchases of Hampshire Trust Bank, Key Retirement Solutions and, on behalf of Encore Capital Group and JC Flowers, the purchase of Cabot Credit Management. He also advised on the capital raise for Neyber which was sourced from Wadhawan Group.
Lawrence graduated from St John's College, Cambridge with an MA and studied Natural Sciences. In 2004 he was BVCA Financial Adviser of the year.
