Biography

Julian joined Quayle Munro in 2012 focusing on B2B information, data & analytics, and software. 

Prior to joining Quayle Munro, Julian was Head of Media Investment Banking, EMEA at The Royal Bank of Scotland.  Julian also held the position of Head of Media Advisory at ABN AMRO Bank prior to its acquisition by RBS, having joined ABN AMRO in 1998. 

Julian has 17 years of corporate finance experience and has advised on over USD $17bn of media and technology mergers and acquisitions and over USD $7bn of media equity capital raisings. Julian began his career in 1990 at Coopers & Lybrand (now PwC) where he worked in Audit and Corporate Finance in London and then Paris. 

Since joining Quayle Munro, Julian has advised Mekentosj BV on its sale to Springer Science + Business Media, Dow Jones on the sale of its German energy and commodities trade publications and AVEDAS AG on its sale to Thomson Reuters.

Other major transactions include the P2P of VNU (now Nielsen), the P2P of RDF, the acquisition of TDC Forlag by European Directories, the P2P of Wanadoo as well as equity raisings for Reed Elsevier, Informa, Eniro and PagesJaunes amongst others.

Julian is fluent in French and has a degree in Physics from Imperial College, London. He is also a Chartered Accountant (FCA).
